Leonardo’s “Mona Lisa”
c1503-08 is the most famous portrait ever painted.
I thought it would be fun to make her in miniature.
This time she is in her conventional pose.
..but I plan to do others perhaps knitting
or enjoying a cup of tea.

This is a seated twelfth-scale figure.  It is possible

to move her arms and legs, although she was made

primarily with this pose in mind. She will sit on any chair or stool. She wears a gathered black gown

and long fine veil. She has contrasting sleeves in a slightly metallic brown fabric. Her hair is brown

mohair which has been curled into ringlets.

I have painted a screen in front of which she can

be seated, which simulates the scene in the

background of the original painting. This is acrylic

on card, is about A4 size, and will be included

with the figure.
