Jeanne

Antoinette Poisson

Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, Mistress of the King,

better known as Madame de Pompadour.

She lived 1721-1764 ….the height of Rococo.

My figure is twelfth scale, so she is a little under 14cm tall. She wears a ‘sack-back’ gown typical of the period, inspired by those seen in portraits of her by Boucher.

She is one-of-a-kind, and no moulds were used at all when making her.  Her dress is made of green silk trimmed with green and purple ribbons and bows.

She has bracelets of fine pearl beads.

Her hair is brown and styled close to her head as

seen in portraits of her. She has green shoes with gold buckles and green fabric rosette trims.
