The Little Mermaid

A figure based on the tragic story of the Little Mermaid by Hans Anderson.

She has sea green eyes. Her tail is based on studies of salmon, and she holds a real shell mirror and a brush for her long curly coral hair.

She sits on sculpted rocks painted and encrusted with papers, silk fibres, beads and threads to simulate

seaweeds, and there are some real tiny shells also fixed to the setting.

On her wrist, arm and in her hair and round her neck she has silvery beaded twirly wire jewellery. The setting is mounted onto a strong

circular box which can be opened. If she was a standing figure she would be about 15cm tall so is roughly twelfth scale.
